This week on Access All Areas, Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood joined hosts Bobby Norris and Stephen Leng to reveal his “teenage girl” reactions when he met his icons.
When asked if he ever gets starstruck by the celebs or musical performers on the show, he joked that he didn’t, but followed up with: “Actually that is a lie. When Shirley Bassey came on to sing I was literally groveling at her feet. I was disgusting. I turned into a teenage girl! It was ridiculous”
He continued: “I met Liza Minnelli through the show as well, loved that. Bette Midler was another one that came and sang on the show. Beyoncé of course. Amy Winehouse. I mean the list goes on! Yeah and the answer to that is yes I do get starstruck.”
Then, the Australian-British ballroom dancer talked about his overwhelming feelings when he met Beyoncé: “I couldn’t believe it, I was so starstruck when Beyoncé came through with a twenty-five entourage. I was in the hallway, no one’s allowed to look at her or anything and I’m stood in the hallway and she came straight up to me and said, ‘hey Craig!’ I went oh my God she knows who I am! Beyoncé! I was so excited.
During the show, the trio also spoke about how the new series will differ because of COVID restrictions, and Craig shared his elation at a same-sex couple finally competing on the show.
