The Apprentice star Sian Gabbidon has opened up on parting ways with business partner Lord Alan Sugar saying the reason behind the split was her wanting to ‘take back’ her business.

Chatting to hosts Bobby Norris and Stephen Leng on the showbiz gossip programme Access All Areas, the reality star, who won the 2018 series of The Apprentice, said:

“We parted ways, I decided that I wanted to do my own thing. We had four years together, it’s been a rollercoaster of a journey, and for me, it was taking back my business and doing things my own way.”

She then went on to speak about how she broke the news to Lord Sugar:

“It was just a conversation… we kind of came to an agreement and now I’m just living my best life, I guess. Not in a negative way towards him [Lord Sugar] but it’s just nice to have a bit more fun.”

She continued:

“It’s such a serious show and to go on to win it and become his business partner, it’s so serious. I just want to enjoy it, and have fun. I spent four years of hardcore work and business, so now I just want to have a bit of fun.”

When asked by Stephen if it was a difficult decision to make, the 29-year-old responded candidly saying:

“Yeah, it was difficult, I think after the amount of time together and where the business was and what I wanted for it, it was more just for me. It’s hard because, as any business owner knows, even if you’re just running things on your own, it’s hard work, full-on, and constant every day.”

She then said:

“I felt like I lost myself a bit and I feel like every business owner could say the same thing especially when you have such a high-profile partner, and you’ve been on a TV show, all eyes are on you… it was definitely a big decision, but one that I’m kind of happy I made.”

Also in the interview, the business owner revealed how she strongly believes in gut instincts and how instinct is what led to her applying for The Apprentice:

“[gut feelings] are what led me to go on the show in the first place, I like to live in the moment. I think with a business, when you are so in the limelight and it’s so hardcore, you don’t [use gut instincts], you’re constantly looking at the future and what’s coming up. I now want to enjoy every moment that I’ve got, have fun and get on with life and business by finding a balance.”
