The latest member of Nick Helm and Nathaniel Metcalfe’s Fan Club is screen and stage actor Thomas Coombes.
When asked if he despised self audition tapes, Thomas answered: Yeah I absolutely do, I was never a fan of them before even all this started… I’ve got a bit more of a gear now because I’ve had to but… I prefer I think the immediacy of going in for an audition where you’ve got to kind of nail it in one take, maybe two.
Then, presenter Nick Helm continued: “I like to be able to look in their eyes and know that I haven’t got the job on the spot.”
The Him & Her star replied: “Yeah, I had a live Zoom audition the other day and there was a clown, you know the (clown horn)? It just kept coming past every two seconds and it was not in keeping with the tone of the scene. It was being recorded and they (the casting agents) said: ‘Yeah, this is going to be sent off to the producers’ and I was like: ‘Oh, fuck sake’”.
During the show, the trio also spoke about Thomas struggling with technology. You can listen to the full chat with Thomas Coombes Today from 1 PM on FUBAR Radio.
