The latest member of Nick Helm and Nathaniel Metcalfe’s Fan Club is legendary British-American comedian and novelist David Baddiel.
Talking to Nick and Nathaniel, The Mary Whitehouse Experience star admitted that Newman and Baddiel in Pieces could “theoretically” come back. The 56-year-old said: “Here’s a small scoop for you. Newman and Baddiel in Pieces, which was the solo show that me and Rob [Newman] did after The Mary Whitehouse Experience, had one series but it was commissioned for three series. But me and Rob split up after the first series. So, theoretically, if me and Rob Newman got back together we could force the BBC to do two series of Newman and Baddiel in Pieces with us far too old.”
He continued: “In a way, I’d like to do it. Just because it would be a f***ing hilarious thing to force them to do. Because I think it is still under contract. But I hardly ever speak to Rob Newman. So that would be quite difficult, to write a show with him.”
