This week on The Dating Show, Calum Best joined Pete and Cici to talk about oversharing on first dates.

Mentioning a challenge that he had to face on TV, the 40-year- old said: “So I went to meet this girl I’ve never met. And one of the other celebs who was a well-known musician [was telling me what to do]. I had an earpiece on and she had a microphone.”

He continued:  “So my date sits in front of me and within like four minutes of her sitting down, I’ve told her about how my, I had alcohol [addiction] in the family and I went through this and I went through that. And she got on the microphone. She was like, ‘Whoa, slow down! You don’t have to tell her all that stuff!’ And it checked me. It made me go. Like, ‘I thought that was actually quite normal. Maybe that’s not normal. Maybe people don’t want to know that much shit straight away!’”

He then admitted: “I like being open though. I like being, I don’t want to waste, I mean this with all due respect, I don’t want to waste that person’s time or mine. And I feel like the more open and the more straight to the point you can be, I think the better it is.”
