Last week on Access All Areas, Strictly’s Karen Hauer revealed she is hopeful of the return of the BBC show amid the Coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking to Joanna Stephen, the star explained: “We usually start rehearsals in late July. As far as I know, fingers crossed I’m hoping it’s still going forward, but we’re just kind of waiting day by day to see what they tell us.

“Obviously we’d love for it to happen!”

When addressing the rumours of TV productions restarting in June but adhering to social distancing, the 38-year-old commented: “That’s just gonna be… side by side maybe? It can always happen. We can always make it work. It doesn’t always have to be in contact. We can get creative!”

The professional dancer also discussed struggling during lockdown, revealing: “Mentally it’s definitely hard. It is hard to be at home all the time and to go out only for specifics and not being able to see your family.”

A recent incident at her home left the Strictly pro wondering if she’d lost her mind during the locokdown: “I stared at my cookie cabinet for about an hour and I just stood there. I think I cried a little bit, then I giggled to myself as well. I was eating a cracker and then I cried some more.”

Her opera singer partner, David Webb, heard her and shouted out to ask who she was on the phone to: “I was just staring at the cookies going, ‘I think something’s wrong!”

Karen has been keeping herself busy by co-running a virtual ‘Home Festival’ with fellow Strictly star Oti Mabuse and both of their partners. Talking about the rewards of this, the Venezuelan beauty explained: “Being able to provide something that brings happiness… it’s nice. The messages that we get from people!”
