Too Hot to Handle’s Seb Melrose opens up about ending things with co-star Kayla Richart and his plans to make her his girlfriend again.
Chatting to hosts Bobby Norris and Stephen Leng on the showbiz gossip programme Access All Areas, the reality star spoke candidly about coming second on the Netflix show where he met Kayla: “I felt like I won. I got the girl that I wanted from the start. I had a fairy tale ending… I was in the final and I got, in my opinion, the best girl on the show. They were all beautiful, but I got the golden goose.”
Later in the interview, the 25-year-old opened up about his experience attempting a long-distance relationship with Kayla after leaving the show: “At first, we really struggled coming off the show. She left LA and came to Scotland. She stayed a month and it was a bit of a struggle, a bit of a culture shock. Everything just happened so quickly. On the show, you get to know each other in such a short space of time. But when you leave the show you’re away from this bubble and she’s my girlfriend but I can’t post her, I can’t take her out anywhere in case she’s seen for confidentiality.”
He continued: “So we decided, when she left Scotland, let’s not have the pressure of being boyfriend and girlfriend. Let’s be single for the time being. I visited LA a couple of times but we decided not to put that pressure on each other and I think that was a lot healthier.”
The Scottish racing driver also revealed his plans to make things official again with his Kayla very soon: “We never actually stopped talking to each other in that full year. Every day we were still talking to each other. We just didn’t have that pressure on us. But it worked out.”
He continued: “I’m taking her to El Salvador, Costa Rica and Peru in two weeks and I’m going to do a special something…a surprise. I’m not going to propose but maybe we’ll put a label on it.”
