The latest member of Nick Helm and Nathaniel Metcalfe’s Fan Club is TV and radio personality Joey Skladany.
The author of Basic Bitchen admitted that, before his career in the food industry, he was an entertainment publicist for Honey Boo Boo amongst many others.
“I launched Honey Boo Boo. I know she was actually popular across the pond”
Nick asked Joey: “So basically, you are the guy that’s responsible for making Honey Boo Boo an international hit?”
Joey jokingly responded: “It’s 100% me and only me.”
When asked how he felt about that, the editor of Chowhound said: “I think it only hit me when Obama – who was president at the time – mentioned her in a speech, saying: ‘Well I got Honey Boo Boo’s endorsement last night’ … and I was like: ‘Whoa alright, this has totally gone beyond just the scope of entertainment. This is now completely embedded in like American society’ ”.
