This week a report was released proving Russia was to blame for the missile which downed a passenger plane in 2014. Well, big shock there.
Alongside this, Vladimir Putin is refusing to stop the horrific bombing he is conducting in Aleppo, Syria. This is something which is causing tension around the world from all the major powers. So much so, that Obama has threatened to cut ties if it continues. US Secretary of State John Kerry has officially warned Russia to stop the bombing. However, the response was pretty funny.
The Russian Deputy Ambassador to the UN, Evgeny Zagaynov, said the “trend” of Russia being blamed for the attacks in Syria must stop.
“It’s become a sort of unfortunate tradition that the majority of strikes on civilian facilities in Syria, without checking it … is blamed on Damascus or Russia,” he said.
However, since this statement, Moscow have announced that they are going to send diplomats to Geneva to talk to the US about normalising the situation in Aleppo. Only time will tell if this will be a successful conversation.
Because of all this, Obama is ‘giving Putin the cold shoulder’, but we think something else is going on.
