It was announced this morning that The X Factor will remain on ITV for at least three more years as part of a newly-confirmed deal with Simon Cowell.
Just when you think it can’t get any worse, Britain’s Got Talent is staying on our screens too.
ITV director of television Kevin Lygo commented ”Britain’s Got Talent and The X Factor are both big, brilliant, wonderful shows and I am delighted that they will continue to take up their place as an important part of our schedule for the next three years.”
The reality TV show, which has barely changed it’s structure in years, is very tired and has lost the attention of the public. 6.8 million viewers tuned in for the newest series’ first episode, down 800,000 from last year’s opener.
We can’t say we’re the least bit excited..
