Love Island’s Shaq Muhammad and Tanya Manhenga revealed that they are looking to move to Manchester together and discussed the new series having more diversity.

Chatting to host Bobby Norris and co-host Ellen Coughlan on the showbiz gossip programme Access All Areas, Tanya spoke openly about how they cope with living apart: “I’m with Shaq a lot. Right now, he just left me yesterday and I’m seeing him again in 3 days. London from Liverpool is only 2 hours. It’s so weird because I thought it was going to be really hard at some point but it’s not. I think it’s because I want to see him and he wants to see me. The things we go to we go together. It’s really not been hard. But I’ve been convincing him to move to Manchester because I love Manchester. It’s a mini London and if he moves there I might move in with him soon.”

Shaq continued to reveal that they’d already viewed some places: “Me and Tanya literally see each other every single week. We went on holiday last week to Malta, and then I came back and went straight to Liverpool for 2 days. My family haven’t seen me for about a week. I might be moving to Manchester soon. She’s been trying to convince me since we’ve come out so that might be on the cards. I’m a firm believer in you make time for the people you want to make time for. And obviously I love spending time with Tanya, so I spend more time up in Liverpool than in London these days… I’ll give you the date of when we’re picking up the keys. We’ve had a little look.”

Later in the interview, the Tanya revealed that she had never watched her season of the show back, saying that it was too “strange”: “I can’t do it. Shaq sat me down when we came out and said “let’s just watch our first episode” so we sat and watched it. I liked the moments of me and Shaq when he was flirting with me and I didn’t know him, it’s funny. It was nice watching those bits but because I know how everyone is now, it’s so weird to watch them back then when we didn’t know their full characters and what it turned out to be in the end. Not that they’re bad people, but it’s just strange to me. I can’t watch it.”

The Love Island stars also revealed their thoughts on the new season of the show, claiming that they thought it was more diverse than before. Shaq said: “I am watching, I had a little catch up today and it’s looking interesting already. It’s good because I feel like people always have this perception that anyone who goes on Love Island has to have a six pack and be shredded and the girls have to be toned. But they’re trying to show that it’s just regular people. Normal people. Like I have no six pack but no one on my season really did to be fair. It was just regular people and I like what they’ve done.”

Tanya added: “It’s a good cast. Right now, it’s really giving diversity. It’s really nice.”
