Love Island’s Martin Akinola opens up about which couples he believes will stay together and who will “kick off” at the reunion.

Chatting to hosts Bobby Norris and Stephen Leng on the showbiz gossip programme Access All Areas, the reality star spoke candidly about his predictions for the future of the Love Island finalists: “I really hope it lasts on the outside but I know that’s not going to be the case. If I was a betting man, I’d probably put it on Shaq [Muhammad] and Tanya [Manhenga] to end first. But I really hope they last a long time honestly.

He continued: “The other couples are really strong. Ron [Hall] and Lana [Jenkins] are a really strong couple, they had their ups and downs early in the relationship but now they look solid. Tom [Clare] and Samie [Elishi] – don’t even worry about them, they’re not breaking up! Kai [Fagan] and Sanam [Harrinanan], I can see what they have is real. I’d bet that they won’t break up. They’ll go the distance in my opinion.”

Later in the interview, the Casa Amor bombshell was asked if he was surprised by Shaq Muhammad and Tanya Manhenga only receiving 2% of the final votes: “Yes and No. Yes because looking back at it now and seeing how they were portrayed in the show, they look like a super strong couple. And no because of what really happened. It wasn’t the nicest thing that she did but it’s a game show, so things happen. She wanted to explore her options before she went back to him, which I don’t think is a wrong thing, it’s just the way she’s gone about it that is wrong. It is surprising, I felt like they should have had more. I’m just happy they got to the finals because in a way it justifies me leaving the show.”

Martin went on to predict that there would be anger towards him at the Love Island Reunion on Sunday: “Someone is 100% going to kick off at me. Because I’ve been saying everything that happened, and someone is going to be angry at me for talking about their couple. I know that already. I just don’t know who is going to kick off at me first.”
