When asked about his role in the BAFTA-nominated film, the 58-year-old said: “Well someone said to me, ‘It must have been difficult for you doing Bend it Like Beckham where you play a nice guy’ and I went, ‘No that’s me!’ That’s me. I’m the nice dad and all the women in my life are driving me mad. That’s the closest I’ve ever done to being me”
