The Good Morning Britain correspondent revealed the time he was left hanging by the visually impaired singer when he went to high-five him during an interview.
Recalling the toe-curling moment, Richard, 45, said: “There have been all sorts of excruciating moments over the years when you’re live, but there was one particular encounter with Stevie Wonder.
“We were getting on so well, and at the end of the interview the most natural thing to do was to put my hand up for a high-five . . . Ah!
“It was on telly, but it wasn’t live so they lost it in the edit. But he was such a lovely lad, so I make no apology.”
