Stritcly’s Janette Manrara and Aljaz Skorjanec on the importance of theatres: “You can’t really describe the feeling and that relationship that exist with an audience member and a cast member on stage”

This week on Access All Areas, Janette and Aljaz joined Bobby and Stephen to talk about the entertainment industry’s struggles during lockdown.

Talking about her career, the 37-year-old said: “We absolutely love doing Strictly Come Dancing and being able to perform on that show every Saturday night and being a part of that is quite special. And probably one of the most special things we will ever do in our careers. But there is nothing that can compare to the feeling that you get when you are live on stage with an audience.”

Aljaz then added:  “I think it’s going to be so important to go back into theatre, back to concerts, back to festivals, back to restaurants, back to the bars to support businesses and to help people. Because I can’t imagine, I mean, just, you know, if you kind of, if you close the stages and the theatres, you kind of cut our wings, in the end, it feels dreadful. I know there are so many people that have been going through this and, It’s the same way with, you know, all the big business owners that, you know, haven’t been able to welcome and to provide their services. It’s going to be so important to go back, theatres especially.”
