Senior Producer

Job title – Senior Producer – CLOSED

Do you have a passion for working with emerging and established entertainers, including social stars? Do you have what it takes to develop and produce brilliant live talk-radio programmes and podcasts for a younger audience? Then this is the position for you.

This is an opportunity to join Britain’s biggest live podcast network and help write the next chapter in its development. Broadcasting live from our studios in London, FUBAR Radio specialises in making live and uncensored talk-based entertainment shows and podcasts for an 18- to 35-year-old audience.

In a drive to expand our programming schedule, we are looking for an experienced Senior Producer to devise and produce iconic entertainment shows that attract new listeners and keep them coming back for more.

This is also an opportunity to work closely with experienced TV colleagues and we are keen to develop audio ideas with TV outcomes. In our newly refurbished studios, TV footage from our live content also plays an important role in marketing our shows on social media. You will appreciate the important role that socials play in making a connection with new listeners and have an ear and an eye for those must-share moments.

This job will be suitable for experienced radio and audio entertainment producers, but also those with experience in the TV Entertainment space who are looking for new opportunities to develop a range of programming free from the confines of OFCOM regulation and the sluggish TV commissioning process.

Main Responsibilities

  • You will devise and produce innovative and original radio and podcasts programming.
  • You’ll be able to identify amazing new talent and have ideas of how to turn what they do online into must-hear audio with potential TV outcomes. You’ll also be comfortable reaching out to them and making a connection.
  • You’ll also be comfortable working with some of the most established names around.
  • You’ll be familiar with popular culture, the UK comedy scene, celebrity news and current affairs, and be able to build positive links with agents, managers, and performers.
  • You’ll set up and oversee all stages of the production process efficiently and with attention to detail.
  • You’ll have experience of hands-on recording in a live radio studio environment as well as on location.
  • You’ll have good sound editing skills and at least a basic understanding of video editing.

Are you the right candidate?

You should be passionate and knowledgeable about radio, podcasting, and all other forms of entertainment.

You will be familiar with established on-line influencers and have a passion for emerging online entertainers.

You will have current radio programme making experience and experience of developing new ideas and returning format series. Most importantly, you will have taken ideas from the early stages of development, all the way through to production. Furthermore, with the help of others, you will know what it takes to market new programming through social media.

You may be an experienced TV programme maker, that would like to cast aside the shackles of OFCOM regulation and the commissioning process. Think about the sorts of shows that you would like to make and that could attract a large audio audience.

What show ideas do you have that might be the next big thing in radio or podcasting – and what talent needs or deserves their own show on FUBAR to reach a bigger audience?

You will be able to demonstrate superb planning skills, and the ability to manage several areas of work at one time. You’ll know how to prioritise your workload and deliver to a deadline.

You’ll have excellent communication skills, both in listening to your team and sharing your vision for the programmes you make.

You will have the experience and maturity to take on a management role in hiring and developing new production staff.

You will be comfortable working closely with senior management to develop the company as part of its schedule expansion.

You will have experience of working with and motivating a team on production – from researchers, assistant producers, performers and beyond. You’ll be able to bring your team together to make fantastic programming.
