Augustines: “Our best album yet”

Drummer Rob Allen from Augustines took a break from his busy schedule in between shows to talk to FUBAR’s Harriet Rose from the Thursday Drive show about their latest music, touring and fans.

On touring with Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds: [The fans] – it’s not the same. Oasis fans had a bit of a reputation of being football sign-alongs. High Flying Birds’s demographic is 30s. [In concerts] you can have 6 year olds and 86 year olds. It was weird, Noel was playing to 3-4000 people a night across Europe,” he added. “I’m on the drums and I only see the first 3 rows anyway.”

On their upcoming third studio album: “We’ve taken all our favourite nursery rhymes and rejuvenated them, we’ve got a school choir and recorded it in 2 days,” Rob laughed. “We did the record in the States. We enjoyed playing bigger rooms, having that fun interaction. It’s always been an inspiration for us, [see] what can we do a little bit different. Minimal approach. We’ve been messing around with a little bit more samples. I think it’s the best one we’ve ever done!”

Their latest single ‘Are We Alive’ is OUT now and third studio album ‘This is Your Life’ comes out June 10th. Listen to the full interview below!
