We’ve lost so many wonderful icons this year. Is it something in the water?

The number of celebrity deaths this year has made 2016 a year to never forget. 2016 has had the highest amount of famous figures pass away, and has many people wondering who’s next?

FUBAR have decided to showcase the stars we have lost to the curse of 2016.

Pete Burns

On Sunday we lost singer and front man of 80’s pop band Pete Burns. It is believed to be connected to his mass addiction of plastic surgery.

Alan Rickman

It came as shock to all when acting legend Alan Rickman died in hospital at the age of 69 after a battle with cancer.

Victoria Wood

A truly honourable British comedian, 62, died peacefully in her London home in April after a short fight with cancer.

Prince

The prince of pop music unexpectedly died in April aged 57.

David Bowie

The music icon that changed the face of music. He will forever be adored for not just his music, but for his stage persona which helped break down society’s view of gender roles.

Gene Wilder

Most remembered for his role in Willy Wonka, See No Evil Hear No Evil and so many more amazing movies.

Kenny Baker

The guy behind R2 D2 died in August. Kenny also starred in The Goonies, Time Bandits and Flash Gordon.

Caroline Aherne

Caroline died at the age of just 52. She was best known for starring and writing The Royle Family, The Mrs Merton Show and the Fast Show.

Anton Yelchin

Anton died in a car crash at the age of just 27. He played Pavel Chekov in the Star Trek reboot but sadly passed away a month before it’s release.

Muhammed Ali

The legendary Muhammad Ali, former heavyweight champion of the world, died aged 73.

David Guest

Hugely successful music producer was discovered dead in his London hotel room in April.

Ronnie Corbett

One half of the two Ronnies and national treasure Ronnie Corbett died aged 85 in March.

 

Unfortunately, the list goes on.

All that’s left is to treasure the great icons we still have today, and remember the ones we have lost.
