Chinese tourists had to pay a $4393 (16,500 shekel) bill at a restaurant in Israel, which sparked an online feud with the restaurant owners.
The internet was fuming, based on the idea that the poor tourists had been ripped off and taken for granted. However, the owners of restaurant Abu-Gosh fought back saying the group of 8 had built up the bill fair and square. According to Abu-Gosh, the party had privately hired the venue, drank 5,900 shekels in alcohol and ate 3,150 shekels worth of food.
Either way, that’s a lot of money on one meal.
